The Citizen Series 8 Automatic GMT 880 with Black Dial is part of a new collection which seeks to redefine the power of a sport watch. First launched in Japan in 2008, Citizen has re-launched Series 8 for a global audience. Citizen describes it as “a mechanical watch for the way we live now”. Series 8, 880 Case & Black Dial

Firstly, the 41mm case is in stainless steel with bushed and mirror finishes. Secondly, the black dial features a design inspired by the skyline of Tokyo at night with bold indexes and chunky hands (view blue dial version here). Furthermore, the hands and hour markers are coated in lume for improved visibility in poor light. Additionally, a GMT hand indicates a second time zone on the bi-directional blue and black bezel. Furthermore, a date indicator at 3 o’clock is a useful feature.

Movement

The Series 8 is equipped with an automatic calibre with enhanced magnetic resistance to protect the movement against external magnetic fields. Also, it has a 50 hour power reserve and water resistance to 10 bars (100m). Finally, a stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp secures the Citizen Series 8 880 Automatic to the wrist.
