The Seiko Prospex 1986 Recreation Pro Dive is a professional diver’s watch suitable for saturation diving. Due to the larger diameter and bold case shape like a tuna can, the watch has been affectionately nicknamed the “Tuna” by Seiko fans.

Limited to just 1,200 pieces worldwide, it commemorates the 35th anniversary of Seiko’s first 1,000m water resistant Saturation diver’s watch.

Case, Dial, Strap

Firstly, the case is made from ceramic and titanium. Secondly, with an imposing 49.4mm diameter, it is designed with visibility in mind. Additionally, a stainless steel uni-directional bezel  surrounds the dial. The dial is blue with bold, Lumibrite coated indices. Similarly, high-visibility hour markers and hands coated in Lumibrite aid legibility under water.

Furthermore, the black silicone accordion strap is durable and practical. Invented by Seiko in 1975, this strap design is a practical solution to the expansion and contraction of a diver’s wrist at different depths. Additionally, a blue silicone strap is also included.

Water resistant to 1000 m/3300 ft, the “Tuna” has a screw caseback. Also, it has a screw-down crown which is located at 4 o’clock for safety reasons. Finally, equipped with a quartz movement, it has a battery life of approx. 5 years.
