Seiko 5 Sports SKX Skeleton Watch

This Seiko 5 Sports SKX Skeleton Watch takes its inspiration from the Seiko archives. Featuring elements from the popular ‘Time Sonar’ watch, the eye catching original 1970s design was famous for its translucent dial showing the day/date disc rotation. Also, its orange centre seconds hand. This modern version retains both these key elements. Also, the watch shape echoes the SKX series of Seiko 5 Sports watches – 1990s versions which updated the 1960s originals.

Case, Dial, Movement, Bracelet

Firstly, the stainless steel case of the Seiko 5 Sports SKX Skeleton Watch is 42.5mm in diameter with a unidirectional elapsed time bezel in black and blue. Secondly, the transparent blue dial has luminous indices and hands. This makes it easy to read. Additionally, a day and date indicator is a useful feature and is common to all Seiko 5 watches. Furthermore, the position of the screw-down crown at 4 o’clock is also a key trait of a Seiko 5. An automatic calibre 4R36 equips the watch, and the movement can be viewed in action through the exhibition caseback. Moreover, the watch has a 41 hour power reserve. Also a stop seconds function means that it is possible to halt the movement within the watch. Finally, a stainless steel bracelet completes the look and a three-fold clasp with push button release secures it to the wrist.
